💥💥THE FIRE-FIGHTING OFFICE draws attention to the safe operation of the fireplace💥💥
When installing or constructing a fireplace, special care must be taken and work must be carried out by a qualified technician.
In an announcement by the Cyprus Fire Brigade, it draws attention to the public by making recommendations for avoiding fires.

As it says, the fireplace should be placed in places where there is no risk of causing and spreading a fire, while the floor and construction around and under the fireplace are made of fireproof materials and not placed on wooden or flammable floors.
The base of the fireplace and generally the structure enclosing it must be such as to permit its proper and safe operation.
Continuing with its announcement, the Fire Brigade notes that the space to be installed in the fireplace should be adequately ventilated, and its construction in places where there are electric cables or other flammable materials inside the walls and ceilings is forbidden.
Also in the prefabricated houses the fireplace and the chimney are separated completely from the rest of the building with 2 hours of refractory materials.
The chimney should be built or fully covered throughout its journey with 2 hour refractory materials and extended to a height of not less than 90 cm. above the top of the contact line with a sloping roof, horizontal roof or gutter.
Still, the creation of permanent or temporary openings in the chimney for the connection of other devices is prohibited and the chimney must only serve a fireplace.
Before the start of the period of use, the fireplace must be inspected externally and internally, so that any damage is repaired by a technician.
The Fire Service also points out that installing a water heating system in the fireplace requires systematic and meticulous control and maintenance.
