💥💥Permanent visual exhibition - tribute to VASSILES MICHAELIDES🙏👌
With the sponsorship of Dr Andreas Pitta, Executive President of Medochemie, the Limassol Municipal Art Gallery acquires a permanent collection of works of art dedicated to Vasilis Michaelides, which will be inaugurated on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 7.30 pm at the Municipal Art Gallery of Limassol. The same day, in the same space, will be presented the new edition of the Municipality of Limassol "In the winds of the hidden, Vassilis Michaelides: Visual and poetic extensions".
Writers and editors of the publication "Inside the Hidden Winds, Vassilis Michaelides: Visual and poetic extensions" is Dr. Natia Anaxagorou, Head of Cultural Services of the Municipality of Limassol and curator of the exhibition and Lefteris Papaleontiou, a university and researcher of Cypriot literature.
Greetings will be addressed by the Mayor of Limassol, Nikos Nikolaidis and the sponsor Dr. Andreas Pittas, while the book will be presented by George Georgis, professor of the University of Neapolis Paphos and former Ambassador of Cyprus in Athens, and Dr. Kyriakos Ioannou, philologist-neo-Hellenist.
As it is known, the most creative years of Vassilis Michaelides are associated with Limassol, where he lived from 1878 until his death in 1917, and where he found particular support from scholars, publishers and intellectuals
